The Executive Mayor, Alderman Peter Teixeira, is proud to announce the launch of the Midvaal Mayoral Student Financial Aid.
The Financial Aid is open to students in need of financial support for registration, books, or a laptop.
The Mayoral Student Financial Aid is a result of the Buang Batjha campaign, which led to the successful Youth Summit hosted on 17 November 2023.
The Buang Batjha campaign engaged young people in open discussions to address critical challenges such as poverty, substance abuse, and unemployment.
During the campaign, young people from Midvaal expressed the need for more support from the municipality for those pursuing higher education qualifications.
The Mayoral Student Financial Aid demonstrates our unwavering commitment to fulfilling the Mayoral undertaking of creating opportunities for all and showcases our proactive efforts to realize the promise made to the residents of Midvaal.
Applications for the Mayoral Student Financial Aid will open today, 22 January 2024 and close on 16 February 2024.
Registrations are for public institutions and full-time students only.
