Midvaal, Gauteng – Human Rights Day 2026 – The Midvaal Local Municipality commemorated Human Rights Day by hosting its popular Walk with the Mayor event at Vaal Marina, bringing together residents in a show of unity, wellness, and community spirit.
Led by Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira, the annual initiative continues to grow as a key platform to promote social cohesion while encouraging residents to embrace active and healthy lifestyles.

This year’s event introduced a new 10km route, catering to more experienced walkers and runners, alongside the traditional 5km route that remains popular among families and community members.
