FlySafair Adds Extra Johannesburg – Harare Flights Ahead of Easter Travel Rush
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Johannesburg, South Africa – 25 March 2026 – South Africa’s leading low-cost airline, FlySafair, has announced the addition of a second daily return flight between OR Tambo International Airport and Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport to meet increased travel demand over the Easter holiday period.

The additional flights will operate from 27 March to 7 April 2026, giving travellers more flexibility during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

Increased Demand for Johannesburg–Harare Route

According to FlySafair, the Johannesburg–Harare route continues to see strong passenger demand, especially during peak holiday periods.

FlySafair Chief Marketing Officer Kirby Gordon said the move is aimed at improving access and affordability for travellers.

“We’re pleased to add a second daily rotation over the Easter period to give travellers greater flexibility and access to competitive fares,” he said.

 Affordable Fares for Travellers

Tickets for the additional flights are already available, with:

  • Fares starting from R1,663 from Johannesburg
  • Fares from R2,046 from Harare

Passengers are encouraged to book early to secure the best prices, as fares are subject to availability.

 Boost for Regional Travel

The extra flights will operate alongside FlySafair’s existing daily service, increasing seat capacity for:

  • Holiday travellers
  • Business passengers
  • Families visiting relatives across borders

The move is expected to ease travel pressure and improve connectivity between South Africa and Zimbabwe.

FlySafair’s Growing Reputation

Since launching operations in 2014, FlySafair has built a strong reputation for reliability and affordability.

The airline has:

  • Been ranked among the world’s most on-time low-cost carriers
  • Won multiple awards at the South African Civil Aviation Industry Awards
  • Received the Skytrax Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa award multiple times

Travel Advice for Easter

With demand expected to surge during Easter, travellers are advised to:

  • Book flights early
  • Use mobile booking options for convenience
  • Check schedules in advance
