Reaffirming its commitment to good governance and financial accountability
Midvaal Local Municipality has achieved an unqualified with no material findings
(clean audit) for the 2023/2024 financial year.
This audit result marks Midvaal as the proud holder of eleven (11) consecutive clean
audits, reaffirming our commitment to financial accountability and good
governance.
The announcement was made by the Office of the Auditor-General (AG) during an
ordinary Council meeting held on Thursday, 30 January 2025.
The municipality was audited on its financial statements, annual performance report,
and compliance with legislation.
This includes, among other things, performance reports, annual reports, as well as
procurement and contract management, revenue management, and asset
management.
The AG found that the municipality is spending enough to maintain the infrastructure
to ensure sustainable and continuous service delivery in the Midvaal region.
In the integrity and transparency category, the Auditor-General noted the continued
implementation of daily disciplines and the strengthening of a culture of
accountability through effective consequence management.
The clean audit outcome reaffirms our commitment to being a transparent and
accountable government.
We will continue to work even harder to ensure that clean audits translate into
tangible service delivery that every resident can see, feel and experience.
